PRESSURE VESSELS

This vessel qualifies as a mock-up. The vessel, calculation set and drawings are simple. The materials are easy to source, the fabrication is straightforward and the audit team has seen it before. However, we suggest that where practical, a real in-production vessel be used instead. If a mock-up is required, we can also design other vessel configurations that would be useful after the audit.

We can update the drawing and calculation set to the latest code and addenda if you want to use this vessel. (Do not use this drawing, for example only!) We can also re-design the vessel changing size, materials, thicknesses and nozzle configurations as desired. 

Pretend that the auditor will randomly pick an in-production vessel for review. The validation below is a one-off for the audit, but everything else should match your regular production methods. 

Any current Code work ongoing at the time of the joint review is subject to the review. 

This exchanger has been designed in accordance with Part UHX of ASME Section VIII Division I. ASME requires analysis of seven separate load cases on fixed tubesheet exchangers. The cases are made up using all combinations of tube side and shell side design pressures and loadings due to thermal expansion.

ASME UHX design is mandatory and replaces the previously used TEMA rules. As can be seen from the calculation set linked below, the UHX calculations are much more complicated and require more information from the designer.
